What FileDistro Uses Information For

FileDistro uses account information only to sign you in, decide whether you are approved to use the app, and show files and sharing features that belong to your account.

Information We Store

FileDistro stores your email address, account approval status, invite status, the Terms of Use version and time you accepted, uploaded files, folders, share links, and basic request and audit logs needed to operate and protect the service. Audit records may include your IP address and browser user agent.

If you sign in with Google, FileDistro uses the email address returned by Google to match or create your FileDistro account. FileDistro does not request access to your Google Drive, contacts, calendar, or email.

What We Do Not Do

FileDistro does not sell personal information, does not show ads, does not use your files or account details for marketing, and does not share your information with third parties except as required to run sign-in and email delivery.

Cookies

FileDistro uses cookies to keep you signed in and to remember small browser preferences. These cookies are used only for the app experience.

File Sharing

Files and folders are available only to approved signed-in users or to people who have a share link. Anyone with a valid share link may be able to access the shared file or folder until that link expires, reaches its download limit, or is revoked.

Meeting Rooms

Anyone with a meeting room link can join that room. Meeting chat is held in server memory only while the room is active. Voice and video are sent between meeting participants using WebRTC and may be relayed through the configured TURN server when a direct connection is unavailable.

Download Logs

When you download a shared file, FileDistro logs your IP address against that download. We keep this only as a basic download record and will not use it for anything else.

Deleting Information

You can delete files and revoke share links inside FileDistro. Account records and request logs may be retained as needed to operate the service and manage access.
